CyberQamus does not store users’ plain-text passwords.

- Other profile information voluntarily provided by the user

- Correction requests

Voting and activity information
- Terms voted on

The platform and its service providers may process:

3. Why we use personal information
Personal information may be used to:
- Create and manage accounts
- Authenticate users

- Maintain contributor profiles

4. Legal basis and user choice
CyberQamus processes information where it is necessary to provide the requested platform services, protect legitimate platform interests, comply with applicable obligations, or act with the user’s consent where consent is required.
Users are not required to create an account to browse public terminology. An account is required for voting, profile management, and contribution features.
5. Public information
Approved contributions, contributor names, comments, or professional information may be displayed publicly only where the interface clearly indicates that the information will be public.
Email addresses, authentication details, private administrative notes, and security information must not be displayed publicly.
6. Service providers
CyberQamus may rely on service providers including:
- Supabase for database and authentication services
- Lovable or the selected hosting provider for application delivery
- Email providers for verification and account messages
- Analytics or monitoring providers
- Artificial-intelligence providers when AI features are enabled
Providers should receive only the information reasonably required to provide their services.
Update this section when additional production providers are activated.
7. International processing
CyberQamus and its providers may process information in countries outside the user’s country.
Where required, reasonable contractual, organisational, and technical measures should be used to protect transferred personal information.
8. Data retention
Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for:
- Account operation
- Contribution and editorial history
- Security and fraud prevention
- Dispute resolution
- Legal or regulatory obligations
Account information may be deleted or anonymised after a valid deletion request, unless retention is required for security, audit, legal, or legitimate editorial-record purposes.

Depending on applicable law, users may request:

11. Security
CyberQamus uses reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their passwords and report suspected account misuse promptly.
12. Children
CyberQamus is intended primarily for professionals, researchers, translators, and students capable of understanding the platform.
The platform is not intentionally designed to collect personal information from young children. If such information is identified, contact CyberQamus to request review and removal.
13. Changes to this Policy
This Policy may be updated when platform features, providers, or legal requirements change.
Material changes should be communicated through the website or account notifications where appropriate.
